01 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to understand how visitors use them. We also use related technologies — such as localStorage and pixel tags — and refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this policy.
02 Why we use them
We use cookies on the CalmPilot AI website to:
- Make the site function correctly (security, page loading, form submissions).
- Remember basic preferences such as language and theme.
- Understand which pages and features people find useful, in aggregate.
We do not use cookies on our website to deliver targeted advertising.
03 Types of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the website to work — for example, to keep your session secure or to remember that you have dismissed the cookie banner. These cannot be turned off and do not require consent.
Preference
Remember choices you make, such as language or whether to display the site in dark mode. These improve your experience but the site will still work without them.
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are only set after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner.
04 Analytics
Where you have given consent, we use a privacy-respecting analytics setup to count visits, see which pages are popular, and identify broken pages. The analytics data we collect:
- Is aggregated — we do not build profiles of individual visitors.
- Excludes precise IP addresses (we truncate or anonymise them before storage).
- Is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted.
We do not sell analytics data and do not use it for advertising.
05 Third-party cookies
Some pages may include content from trusted third parties — for example, embedded videos or web fonts. These providers may set their own cookies governed by their own policies. We keep this list short and prefer providers with privacy-friendly defaults.
06 Your choices and controls
- Cookie banner — when you first visit the site, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your decision at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
- Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser’s help pages for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
- Do Not Track — we honour the “Global Privacy Control” signal where it is sent by your browser.
07 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website evolves. The current version is shown by the “Effective” date at the top of the page.
